The I’m InTouch SecurePC remote access terminal is ideal if you are looking for a completely secure way to remotely access your desktop PC from anywhere. Instead of carrying around a cumbersome laptop or relying on a public computer, you can use the SecurePC to remotely control your PC anywhere you can get a wired or wireless Internet signal. Weighing in at just over 2 lbs, the SecurePC is the perfect size for traveling.
The biggest benefit of the SecurePC however is that it protects you and your businesses from any possibility of data loss. Unlike a laptop, no files can be saved to the SecurePC so all your information stays safely behind your firewall on your desktop PC or network server. If the SecurePC is lost or stolen, the only cost is replacing an inexpensive piece of hardware. If you lose a laptop, you never know who might get their hands on the data sitting on its hard drive so why take the risk? Learn more about the SecurePC at www.01com.com/secure.

One of the best features of the I’m OnCall remote help desk software is that no software needs to be pre-installed on either a technician’s or customer’s computer in order for a support session to be initiated. Connecting to a customer’s PC is simply a matter of creating an incident from I’m OnCall’s web administration page, sending a session code the customer, and having the customer accept your remote support request.
This is not only really easy to use but also incredibly convenient. Your technicians can support computers from essentially any PC in the world; all that is required is a browser and Internet connection. It also means that you can be up and running within minutes of signing up for an I’m OnCall account. There is no software to install or servers to configure so implementation time is basically nil.

For organizations looking to provide employees with remote access to their desktop PCs, the choice will probably be between a remote access solution like I’m InTouch and a VPN. While every situation is different, for the most part, your company will probably be better off going with I’m InTouch for several important reasons:
Ease of Implementation
With I’m InTouch, your remote access system can be up and running in as little as a few minutes. Even if you choose to deploy the I’m InTouch Server Edition, your remote access system will be ready for use in no time. I’m InTouch is not only faster to set up than a VPN, it is a lot easier as well. No complicated configurations or set-up procedures, just a simple installation on the computer you need to provide remote access to.
Flexibility
Unlike most VPNs where you need to install software on the device you will be using to remotely control your PC, with I’m InTouch, no software needs to be installed on the remote device. A quick installation on your desktop PC allows it to be remotely accessed from any wired or wireless device with an Internet connection and browser in the world.
Cost
VPNs are also costly to implement and maintain. Unlike I’m InTouch where all support and upgrades are handled by 01 Communique, with a VPN, you will probably have to do all the work. If anything goes wrong with your VPN, you will need to spend the money to solve the problem. If you do not have an IT department on site, this can be a huge issue. Why take the risk when I’m InTouch is available for a low monthly or yearly cost with all support included for free.

One of the less obvious benefits of using a remote access software like I’m InTouch is that it can help limit the need for expensive hardware upgrades and replacements. For instance, if you use a laptop in addition to your home or office desktop PC, you probably find yourself upgrading to a more powerful laptop every couple of years.
With I’m InTouch, you can use your laptop to remotely control your desktop PC from anywhere you can pick up an Internet signal. This means you only need to worry about upgrading your desktop PC as needed since it will be doing all the heavy lifting. Your laptop essentially becomes a viewer and just needs to be able to connect to the Internet using a web browser.
An added benefit is that all youri nformation will be centralized on your desktop PC and not stored in mulitple locations. Your laptop becomes a dumb terminal that you use to remotely access your PC which removes the need to store files on it. This also protects you from any possibility of data breaches if the laptop is lost or stolen.

If you provide IT support to customers or employees, there have generally been two ways 1) Traveling to the customer’s physical location or 2) On the phone. Neither of these solutions is an ideal one.
Traveling to a customer’s computer is expensive and time consuming. It also limits the number of customers you can support to those you can reach in your car. Supporting customers over the phone can be even more time consuming as you try and diagnose a problem based on what the customer sees. This generally leads to a lot of frustration for both you and the customer.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could combine the geographical reach of the phone with the control of actually seeing the customer’s computer screen? With 01 Communique’s I’m OnCall help desk software, you can!
Instantly take PC remote control of any customer’s computer from your PC to diagnose and resolve issues quickly. You can see for yourself exactly what the problem is and install any needed updates or fixes. You can even transfer files to the remote computer if required. Best of all, no software needs to be installed on your or the customer’s PC so you can support anybody from anywhere.
